Donate Auction Items to Benefit CPCH Kids, DYC      We can always count on our members’ generosity, like the great gifts you donated for our guests to enjoy at Cumberland Kids’ Day. Now we need some really great items donated for the silent auction at our annual Commodore’s Ball. This is our only fundraiser and it makes such a difference. Funds go to both our CPCH kids and to support DYC dock improvements and events.

This year we hope to have even more luxury items donated early so we can publicize them and have a greater turnout for the ball and the auction. Please contact me for questions and to make donations.

It’s not the America’s Cup race, but this boat race is sure to test your creativity and “boating” skills. Bring your own supply of cardboard and lots of waterproof tape, staples and ingenuity to the assembly and race site next to the ramp to docks 20-Eagle’s Nest. The first race starts at 5 p.m. Competition will include “Under 16” and “Adult” categories with prizes awarded in both groups. Then it’s on to the DYC Dock 22 at 7 p.m. for pizza, beer and wine and dancing the night away. Go to www.dallasyachtclub.org to get the rules.

Cardboard Boat Race

Competition will include “Under 16” and “Adult” categories with prizes awarded in both groups.

After the “official” boat race, we’ll have an “Anything Floats” category for racing any creative homemade contraption that is not motorized! 😉

If you don’t plan on racing a “boat”, please bring your lawn chairs & come to the shoreline to cheer on the racers!

Then at 7:00pm, head on over to the DYC Dock 22 for Pizza & salad and dancing the night away. DYC will provide beer & a limited wine selection. But—It’s always a good idea to BYOB (fave beverage)! 😉

Cost for event:

Platinum Member – No Charge

Regular Member – $5.00 per person

Guest – $20.00 per person

Our Cumberland Children’s Day at the Lake is scheduled for Sept 13th. Please bring donations to stuff in the children’s backpacks (~ 20 kids) AND we’re asking for everyone to donate at least 1x $10.00 gift card (Walmart, Target, Dollar General, etc) to support CPCH.
