Floating with Friends, Fly Boarding at the DYC Raft-up Aug. 16
What’s more fun than partying with your DYC buddies on the dock? How about partying with your buddies in a flotilla of boats from the Dallas Yacht Club? Join us for the annual DYC Raft-up Aug. 16 at 2 p.m. And as a special treat. NTX Fly Board will be there from 2-5 p.m. (or later) with two jet skis, offering DYC members discount fly board rentals for the brave at heart! This is a BYO-everything but lots of folks bring plenty to spare for the folks who drop in and swim up. Look for the flotilla at Goat Island and raft up with the gang. www.dallasyachtclub.org.
Not Just a Box! The Great Cardboard Boat Races Aug. 30
It’s not the America’s Cup race either, but the Cardboard Races Saturday, August. 31 are sure to test your creativity and “boating” skills. Bring your own supply of cardboard and lots of waterproof tape, staples and ingenuity to the assembly and race site next to the ramp to docks 20-Eagle’s Nest. The first race starts at 5 p.m. The winner gets a prize and everyone gets pizza and a smokin’ hot DJ afterward at the DYC dock starting at 7 p.m. Make it even more fun—challenge your dock mates or another dock!
